Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

After unprotected sexual activity with my wife, I had small cuts on my penis foreskin and red patches. There is slight itchiness, too. My wife had a yeast infection before (a few months ago).

Please help.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through the photos and details (attachments removed for the patient's identity protection). These are likely due to fungal infection.

  1. Wear loose cotton innerwear.
  2. See that there is adequate ventilation.
  3. Clean the area with warm water twice daily.
  4. You can use topical antifungal cream like Clotrimazole cream.
  5. Please continue taking Fluconazole tablets.
  6. Treatment of your partner, along with antifungal therapy simultaneously, is important.
  7. Check for diabetes in both. If present in any control of diabetes, it is important.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I was only given one Fluconazole tablet, and this was five months back. So, what dosage should I take, and for how long?

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Fluconazole can be taken 150 mg weekly once for four to six weeks. Both partners need treatment simultaneously. Follow other measures as mentioned earlier. Consult your doctor for further examination and management if it does not subside.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
