What would cause pain while urinating and how to manage it?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 18 years old and facing a problem in passing urine completely. It is like whenever I urinate, the urine does not come out completely. But, when I sit somewhere else apart from the toilet, I feel a tickle out there and notice that the leftover urine passes out. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern. From what you are reporting, you seem to have a urinary tract infection (UTI) or have urinary stones (tiny). First, have a urine test at home (you can buy it at your local drug store) to have the results. Then, pass them to me after getting results for further evaluation. For the moment try to drink plenty of fluids especially plain water, take urine antiseptic containing cranberry. I hope this helps. Thank you and take care.
