Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I need to get a second opinion on my CT scan report for fibroids. I do not have any side effects or symptoms at the moment. The local doctor has advised us to undergo surgery to remove them. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

I have gone through the reports (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity), and these are quite large fibroids, and they are multiple. If right now you do not have any symptoms like excessive pv (per vaginal) bleeding or pain in the abdomen, you can postpone your surgery. The fibroid will not affect your health, but it may increase in size, so it is better to go for surgery, either for a myomectomy (removal of fibroids) or go for a hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) and the ovarian cyst is very small so, no intervention needed for this.

I hope this information helps you.

Feel free to ask further queries.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thanks a lot for your swift response. Apart from the above two, is there anything else in the report in particular you would point out? It is nothing to worry about, right?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I read your queries and understand your concern.

There is nothing to be worried about. Do not worry. It is just a fibroid, and it is a non-malignant condition (non-cancerous). It may increase in size and cause symptoms like excessive bleeding and pain. If it would have been near menopause, then no operation is needed (as after menopause, there is no possibility to increase size and cause symptoms).

Hope this helps.

Kind regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
