Patient's Query
Hello doctor.
My 4-year-old daughter has had urinary urgency, UTI, and a burning sensation while urinating since last night. What could be the reason?
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Thank you for your query.
I understand your concern. The urgency and burning sensation while urinating are common symptoms of UTI (urinary tract infection). Usually, prolonged holding causes these sensations. Children often hold urine due to discomfort and stress. UTIs are often associated with fever. Was there any fever?
I suggest you follow the instructions mentioned below,
After these interventions, I suggest doing a few tests if she still feels the same symptoms. Get urine routine microscopy and urine culture test done.
If the laboratory report confirms UTI, we can start the medications accordingly.
I hope this has helped you. Thank you.
