Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am blessed with a baby boy (3 months 10 days). I am sharing with you his vaccination card. All vaccines are almost due because of the Corona pandemic. Most of the clinics are closed. Will you please suggest, whether these vaccines can be delayed a bit till the suspension of lockdown, or do I need to arrange it ASAP. Really tensed about this unexpected and unfortunate situation.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern for your child. I would say you can wait for some more time till the end of this month as probably after this month lockdown restrictions will be over. I believe you should go according to your pediatrician as he would understand the situation best at your place. Till then, best hygiene measures should be taken for your child. Use hand rub or wash hands properly before touching your child. Avoid giving bottle feeds. If you maintain this, there should be no problem. All vaccines can be given at a later date.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Just taking a second opinion on this matter. Just need to check if all the vaccines given later, is it fine for my kid? Because the dates are due by 60 days. Please assure me. That is the only concern. I have waited for 6 years, had gone through many process. Four IUI, one PPROM couple of years ago, after a long wait gift with my baby. So just realise my situation.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Vaccinations for child are definitely important. Seeing the current pandemic many vaccinations are delayed worldwide, definitely there is some risk for infants in such situations. But this is the time when we see risk vs benefit. After hearing your circumstances, I would recommend you should get child vaccinated. In which city are you there, I am sure some doctors would have started services but get it done with a pediatrician only. May be I could recommend you someone depending upon your location.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
