Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 26-year-old woman. Four months ago, I experienced vaginal itching and burning. I consulted a doctor and applied Ketoconazole ointment for 10 days, which completely resolved the issue. However, after stopping the ointment for 10 days, the itching returned. When I reapplied the same ointment, it did not work for me. So, I visited my gynecologist again. She prescribed Itraconazole 200 mg for 10 days and Clotrimazole 1% cream. I initially felt some relief, but when I got my period that month, I stopped using the cream for five days. After not using the cream for five days, when I started using it again, I did not experience any relief, and it actually worsened the symptoms. So, I consulted my gynecologist once more. She prescribed some antibiotics and antifungal suppositories to insert into the vagina, and she recommended applying Luliconazole 1% cream. I followed her advice, took the antibiotics, inserted the vaginal suppositories, and applied the cream twice a day for the past week. I also took a Fluconazole tablet. However, I have not experienced any improvement or relief. As I am married and have a baby girl, I am concerned about the possibility of it spreading to my husband and baby. Please help.
Thank you.
