Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I think I have a yeast infection. I took Monistat 1, three or four days ago. I still have symptoms like a lot of vaginal moisture and a slight odor in the area. Today I have had vaginal itching and swelling. It is pretty uncomfortable but I think the swelling is going down. Should I go to urgent care or just schedule a doctor's appointment as soon as possible? Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.According to your medical history and complaint, I feel you may have the following:

  1. If you have a white thick curd-like discharge then it can be a yeast infection.

  2. If you have a yellow-green frothy discharge with a foul smell then it can be trichomoniasis.

  3. If you have a grey milky discharge with a fishy odor then it is bacterial vaginosis.

You may have a yeast infection or trichomoniasis, or bacterial vaginosis. Please explain your complaint in detail because all three conditions are different from each other and need different treatment.I will advise you on the correct treatment.Hope this helps.

Regards.
