Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am suffering from an itchy vagina since yesterday. Also, there is a thin and watery discharge that happens during the premenstrual phase. But I just got done with my period a few days ago so I cannot be in the premenstrual phase. I had unprotected sex but he did not discharge inside me. What are the reasons and please give me solutions.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
It could be some pelvic infection, local skin irritation, or sensitivity by anything like tight garments, any cosmetic or any product like hair removal cream, vaginal discharge secretions irritation, etc. Have one high vaginal swab to send for histopathology to the lab. Urinalysis and urine culture are also better. You can sit in mildly hot water to reduce irritation. Have strict hygiene. Wear soft cotton undergarments. Use a soft blade to remove local hairs. Use condoms for some time till symptoms remain as it reduces transmission of sexually transmitted diseases. After the collection of swabs take a tablet of Doxycycline 100 mg twice daily and a tablet of Metronidazole 400 mg eight hourly for seven days. For pain, you can take a tablet of Ponstan 500 mg (Mefenamic acid) at intervals of eight hours. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with them, and take medications with their consent. I hope things would be better. Collect lab reports and discuss them here or with a local gynecologist.
Thank you.
