Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 20 years old. I had protected sex about five to six days ago. My partner did not penetrate but rubbed his penis between my vagina and anus. I had my period around two to three days ago before the sexual encounter. After I reached home, I saw a little blood in my vaginal area. I have been getting stomach upsets frequently and have been under a lot of tension. Could the stomach pain be due to the tension or is it related to pregnancy? Please help.

Thank you.

Hi,

Thank you for stopping by!

I am here to provide expert opinions on your medical issues.

I understand your concern.

I do not see any reason for you to worry. For a lady, ovulation occurs between the twelfth to the sixteenth day of the period. The life of an egg is 24 hours, and that of sperm is 72 hours. Hence, there is no chance that the egg will be available immediately after periods and the sperm will not be alive till the next ovulation. If your partner had used a condom, there is no chance of semen coming in contact with the vagina. The blood was probably due to the tear of the vaginal wall, the opening of the vagina, or the hymen membrane tear. This can be if it was your first sexual exposure, or by a rough sexual attempt. Even if by any chance you would have got pregnant, it takes five to seven days for the baby to come and embed in the uterus, and show symptoms of pregnancy.

The pain in the abdomen can due to anxiety or an infection. I suggest you have simple antibiotics like - tablet Doxycycline 100 mg or tablet Augmentin 625 mg (Amoxycillin 500 mg and Clavulanic acid 125 mg) twice a day for five days. You can also add any painkillers like tablet Cyclopam (Dicyclomine 20 mg and Paracetamol 500mg) or tablet Hyocimax (Hyoscine butyl bromide 10 mg) or tablet Pamaspas (Paracetamol 325 mg, Pamabrom 25 mg and Dicyclomine 10 mg) or Buscopan (Hyoscine butyl bromide 10 mg) two to three times a day for five days. You can add antacids like tablet Digene (Aluminum hydroxide 300 mg, Magnesium aluminum sulfate 50 mg, Magnesium hydroxide 25 mg, and Simethicone 25 mg). Consult your physician and take medicines accordingly. You should be fine within two to three days.

I hope this information will help you. Please revert in case of further queries.

Thank you.
