Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been experiencing severe discomfort recently, including a persistent cough, body aches, and a high fever that is not going away. I did some research on the internet and found out about this H1N2 influenza virus, and now I am terrified that is what I might have. I have never felt this sick before, and I am worried it could be something serious. Can you please tell me more about the H1N2 influenza virus? What are the symptoms, and how is it treated? Do I need specific antiviral medication, or will it go away on its own?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for writing, and I understand your concern.

The H1N2 (influenza A virus subtype) influenza virus is a type of flu virus that can cause respiratory illness in people of all ages. Symptoms of H1N2 flu may include fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, fatigue, and headaches.

Most people who get the flu will recover on their own within a few weeks without any specific treatment. However, for some people, particularly those with underlying medical conditions such as asthma, diabetes, or heart disease, the flu can be more severe and may require medical attention.

Antiviral medications such as tablets Oseltamivir 75 mg (pregelatinized starch, polyvidone K30, croscarmellose sodium, talc, sodium stearyl fumarate) and powder Zanamivir may be prescribed by a healthcare provider to help reduce the severity and duration of flu symptoms in people who are at high risk for complications or who have been exposed to the virus. These medications should be started as soon as possible after the onset of symptoms to be most effective.

In addition to medication, it is important to take steps to prevent the spread of the flu virus to others. This includes washing your hands frequently with hand wash and water or using a disinfectant, covering your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze, staying home from work or school when you are sick, and avoiding close contact with sick people.

Also If you are experiencing severe symptoms such as difficulty breathing or chest pain, seek medical attention immediately. Physicians can assist in creating an individualized therapy that is customized for your specific requirements and can offer more precise information about the possible advantages and disadvantages of antiviral medicine for your specific disease. I wish you good health.

I hope I have answered your question.

Thank you.
