Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My daughter keeps getting sick. She will pick up a virus, have congestion and, cough and fever, then return to school only to get the same thing. This has happened three times this month. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Repeated viral infection or sickness is a sign of poor immunity.

We need to focus on improving kids' immunity by following methods.

  • Add a high protein diet (1.5 g/kg) is a protein requirement of a growing child. Protein deficiency is an important cause of poor immunity; eggs, lean meat, and fish are good sources, and dry fruits and pulses are too.
  • It is best to check hemoglobin levels. Iron deficiency also causes poor immunity. Dates, carrots, and pomegranates are good sources of iron, plus add more leafy vegetables to the diet.
  • Regular deworming is helpful.
  • Encourage physical activity and decrease screen time.

If symptoms persist, further investigation is needed for any systemic cause. Feel free to connect me if there is other concern.

I hope it helps.

Kind regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
