Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My son is 2 years and 11 months old. He used to have vomiting almost every day or frequently. The doctor treated him with the capsule Losec 5 mg for one month. After that, he was alright and was eating well. Later again, his appetite went low, and he started vomiting frequently. The doctor suspected reflux and treated again with the capsule Losec for three months. My kid was responding to Losec and was alright. However, he started vomiting again after he stopped taking the medication. His appetite is low, and he does not like to eat chocolates or biscuits. Please suggest something. Does my kid have a reflux problem or any worm infection? Can I give him Ivermectin and Albendazole oral suspension?

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Worm infection is very common in my country. I suggest you give the baby the syrup Bandy Plus (Albendazole and Ivermectin) 5 ml once at night post-meal. You can repeat the dose after a week. Vomiting can be treated with syrup Ondem (Ondansetron) 5ml twice daily. Gastroesophageal reflux is a diagnosis of exclusion. A milk scan is a diagnostic investigation, but I think it is too early to diagnose and label it as reflux. Consult a specialist doctor, discuss with them, and take medicines with their consent.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
