Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 32-year-old male and I have had the feeling of vomiting for the last two days. Suddenly this morning I vomited twice. I do not drink alcohol or smoke.

I live alone and I mostly eat food ordered from restaurants. I have been eating outside food for the last four years and nothing happened ever.

Now what would have caused the sudden vomiting?

Could it be any stomach infection?

I am worried. Please help me.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query and understand your concern.A history of nausea and vomiting related to gastritis which is an infection or inflammation of the stomach. Other symptoms which may further suggest gastritis may include a general feeling of illness known as malaise, a high body temperature or fever, poor appetite, and abdominal pain. Gastritis can be due to bacterial infection, stress, or excessive use of over-the-counter pain relief medications such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Treatment for gastritis includes antibiotics, proton pump inhibitors, and histamine H2receptor blockers depending on the cause and severity. Over-the-counter antacids can also help with symptomatic relief.

I hope I have been of help.

Thank you.
