Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have pain in my private part with lines in my inner labia. Pain radiates to the left leg. What could be the reason?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I can understand your concern. The pain is neuropathic, involving nerve endings and radiation to the left leg. This condition is called vulvodynia or vestibulodynia, as pain is due to overstimulation of nerve endings of the vulva or vaginal wall. This can be avoided with some ointment like an anesthetic ointment or estrogen cream before having intercourse. Use cotton tampons, maintain hygiene, and avoid hyperstimulation. Some drugs can be used, like painkillers, and others are antidepressants. The lines you are talking about can be a fissure of mucosal linings due to dryness.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.
