Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
There are lots of small bumps on my face, chest, and back. I am not sure if they are acne or not but could you look at it and tell me a solution? They are very small and can not be really seen except in light but I can feel them.
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
I have seen the attached photographs (the attachment was removed to protect the patient's identity). As per the details, it seems that you are having a condition called acne vulgaris.
Acne can present as papules, comedones, pustules, cysts, and scars. In your case, it seems that you are having grade 1-2 acne.
In such cases, I prefer to advise oral antibiotics like
Doxycycline (Tetracycline).
Minocycline (Tetracycline).
Azithromycin (Macrolide).
You may apply Clindamycin gel (Lincomycin antibiotic) in the morning and Benzoyl peroxide (topical antibiotics) alternatively with topical Retinoids (Vitamin A) in the nighttime.
In non-responsive cases, consideration is given to starting oral Retinoids. Avoid oily foods and hair oil application.
Kindly consult a specialist doctor, discuss with them, and take medications with their consent.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
