Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have noticed some white and dark patches on my penis, and I am feeling quite scared. I am not having STDs or HIV. Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

If you have had unprotected sex, it is important to consider the possibility of a sexually transmitted infection (STI). The following tests may be necessary:

  1. TPHA (Treponema Pallidum Hemagglutination),

  2. HPV DNA PCR,

  3. HERPES SIMPLEX VIRUS (HSV) 1 and 2 IgG,

  4. HERPES SIMPLEX VIRUS (HSV) 1 and 2 IgM,

  5. Chlamydia trachomatis IgG,

  6. HIV 1 and 2 antibodies screening test, and HbsAg.

  7. A urine complete test should also be conducted.

If unprotected sex is not the case, the issue may be a simple bacterial infection, for which using T Bact ointment (Mupirocin) for local application and taking a five-day course of Doxycycline 100 mg twice a day might be suitable.

In the presence of itching, a fungal infection could be a possibility. Consider using Candid B (Beclomethasone and Clotrimazole) ointment locally and taking Cetirizine once a night for relief. Ensure that you maintain good genital hygiene by washing twice daily with regular water, avoiding extreme temperatures, and refraining from using heavily perfumed or pH-altering soaps.

I hope this helps. Feel free to contact me if you have any further queries.

    Thank you.
