What results in white, fluid-filled lumps beneath the belly button?

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Below my belly button is an area of white pimples that appear to contain fluid. They do not pop when I touch and clean them. At first, there were only a few of them, but now the patch is expanding. They have been here for twelve months or such. Except for a cat allergy, I do not have any other recognized allergies. Recently, a cat has been around. I will post a picture of them online. I am curious as to what they are. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

It seems to be molluscum contagiosum, caused by the molluscum contagiosum virus, in this lesions present with central umbilication (a depression similar to that of the navel present at the center of any lesion) are present in each lesion. A white body is present inside the bump. It is contagious and must rule out immunosuppression by doing a specific test. After consulting your dermatologist, needing to extrude material inside and cautery is the best option.

I hope I have answered your question.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards.
