I have lost my skin elasticity due to less collagen. Should I take collagen capsules?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 43-year-old female who is 4.11 feet tall and weighs about 143 pounds. I have now lost my skin elasticity. I searched online and realized that this is because of less collagen. Should I take collagen capsules, and for how many days? Or what to do? Please suggest.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Use Ahaglow (Aloe vera, Glycolic acid, and Vitamin E) face wash twice daily for 20 days. Take Tablet Limcee (Vitamin C) 500 mg once in a day for 30 days. Use Photostable sunscreen daily for 20 days at 9 AM, 12 PM, and 3 PM. Do you have dull skin? Do you have loose skin? Do you have wrinkles? Please attach the pictures of your skin.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you so much for your reply. A little bit the wrinkles are starting now. I also feel loose skin nowadays.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Bags under eyes and mild swelling or puffiness in lower eyelids is familiar with age. The muscles supporting the eyelids weaken, and the normal fat moves to lower eyelids, which results in under-eye bags. Loose skin is, the skin starts to sag as elastin in the skin begins to breakdown. Use Ahaglow face wash twice daily for 20 days. Use Cetaphil moisturizing lotion or skin first moisturizing lotion after bath for 20 days. Take tablet Limcee 500 mg once in a day for 30 days. Use Kojic (Kojic acid, Lactokine fluid, and Axeloglicina) cream at night for 20 days (under eyes). Use sunscreen lotions. Use Photostable sunscreen daily (at 9 AM, 12 PM, and 3 PM). Chemical peeling is also a good option. Dermabrasion or fillers are done for wrinkle-free skin. Do you have any current skincare routine? Do you have disturbed sleep? Do you experience inadequate sleep? Do you have any history of smoking? Do you consume alcohol?
