IRCAD- Taiwan hands on training in Bariatric & metabolic surgery in February2012
With the increasing pace in the daily routine lifestyle, there has been tremendous modification in our daily day to day lifestyle. Food, sleep pattern, relaxation areas, day to day tensions..... All have taken a paradigm shift. Eventually there has been an exponential increase in patient with more of non communicable diseases like hypertension, Diabetes, obesity, depression etc.
Of which the obesity is the price that we pay for the visit to the shopping malls, movies, social gatherings, functions and parties. It’s a slow progressive disease that erodes our health steadily. when the complication arises out of obesity for any individual , it becomes a complex medical issue to treat. So when things are well within our control, we have to fight it to stay long in this world to enjoy the various offerings that our mother earth has got to give in the years to come.
For example an individual becomes obese at the age of early 20 and he s getting fixed with a MNC after 30 years of age and becomes a frequent traveler abroad. will he not miss the variety of food he s likely to experience during his travel? so people should realize that eating briyani 7 days a week and missing the lifelong variety of food is madness. so try to cultivate the habit of restricting your taste buds to taste only instead of getting addicted to the drowsy post prandial sleep that u get out of eating stomach full and fainting with hyper glycemic status!!!!!
So folks let me give a solution to repair your blunder that you have committed so far.Yes surgical treatment to obesity. This s the last resort that one has before him as a failure of all medical remedies like, food restriction/ dieting / exercise / lifestyle modification etc.... but remember surgical option is not given to patients who fails in medical but to the subset of people who fails in spite his/ her sincere attempts medically. Because surgery is only going to facilitate things but the individuals mindset to reduce weight should be still there even to succeed oin surgical results. REMEMBER surgery is not a shortcut to reduce weight.
My training was focused on the various surgical options that were available for obese patients and also the surgical cure of the metabolic disease like diabetes.
