Can hepatitis B infection and treatment cause low libido?

Hello doctor,

I am 41 years old, and I am working on different shifts for 15 years. Also, I had hepatitis B noncontagious and having medicine Tenvir. I had no libido for a month or two month and reaching to three months. And when I have a libido, I do not get an erection fast, but when I get it, it will be very good erection. It started in the middle of last year before that everything was perfect. Also, I am working out three or four days per week.

My hormone results are,

Total testosterone in last year was 261.

Total testosterone in this month 263.

Free testosterone is 9.85.

LH is 4.08, and FSH is 5.21.

My questions are,

1. Is hepatitis B effecting on testosterone or libido?

2. Is my testosterone level affecting libido?

I experience rapid heartbeat on using homeopathic HGH. What can be done?

Hello doctor,

I am 65 years old and have taken armor thyroid for years with great results. I had been taking 90 mg daily. Last year I started using a homeopathic HGH but did not notice that it had homeopathic thyroid in it too (Somaderm). After a few months, I saw a rapid heartbeat. I went to the doctor and found I had an arrhythmia. Took a blood test and T3 was 4.7. Other thyroid numbers normal. The most significant change was VLDL went from 51 to 15. LDL from 130 to 89. Triglycerides from 253 to 76. I stopped my thyroid medicine in half. A couple of months later, I took another thyroid test, and my T3 was down to 2.4. Other thyroid numbers are still normal. I have started taking Iodine. Again doing half the dosage of armor and using homeopathic HGH. I do not know how much of each thing I should be using or how to determine what I should do?

I am 15-years-old and scared that I have been through precocious puberty. Have I finished puberty?

Hello doctor,

I am a 15-year-old boy. I have questions regarding my hormones and my puberty. I am scared that I feel as if I may have been through precocious puberty as I have had a beard since I was a late 13 years old. Will I be able to grow still taller, and is there any way my hormones can be regulated and have I finished puberty?

Is it fine to have high prolactin level?

Hi doctor,

I would like help in understanding my situation and a second opinion to that of my GP.

I had a blood test two months back which showed serum prolactin levels at 618. I was unaware what the test was for so breastfed before and during the blood being taken. I breastfeed a toddler between 3 to 8 times a day. (He is also eating solids so most feeds are comfort suckling). I had the test repeated last week and the serum prolactin level is 480. I did not breastfeed before or during the test.

When the GP discussed my first blood results I disclosed I had been experiencing frequent headaches. I was advised to monitor my peripheral vision. I mentioned my vision has become more blurry than usual, since my eye test four months back. (I have prescription glasses for astigmatism). I have had only 5 menstrual cycles since giving birth 19 months ago. My facial skin is more spotty than it was during puberty and I have become more hairy since pregnancy.

Two days before the second blood test I experienced black moving patches of static in my peripheral vision in both eyes. I experienced this a second time the day after the test. I have experienced similar visual disturbances during historic migraines on two occasions, however those were in one eye in the centre of my field of vision. I will disclose this to my GP at my next appointment. I take no medication and my current diagnoses are migraines and depression. The migraines are medicated with over-the-counter painkillers. May I receive an opinion on my current situation. My second blood test has resulted in no further action and I worry I may be overlooked due to breastfeeding.
