Hello, Welcome to icliniq.com. I read your query and understand your concern. I have seen your reports (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity) on the axial length and the corneal topography pachymetry. If increasing the cylindrical power helps reduce the ghost images, then you can do so. Yes, you have steep corneas, and there are chances it may progress to keratoconus, but in my opinion, the chances are less.
Hi, Welcome to icliniq.com. At the outset I want to assure you that, after going through your history and the OCT results (attachment removed to protect patient identity) there is no possibility of any threat to your vision. Photophobia is caused by some inflammation in the front part of the eye. OCT stands for ocular coherence tomography, is basically a scan of the eye, specially the back portion of the eye. It gives us valuable information about the status of the retina, optic nerve etc.
Hi, Welcome to icliniq.com. You have mentioned that you had less vision in one eye at the age of 12 years. This goes in favor of the weak eye being amblyopic. Amblyopia with vision problem should be initiated very early in life, before the age of 10 to 12 years. Was any treatment, like patching, done at that age? As the eye was weak before, LASIK surgery will not help in improving the vision.
Hello, Welcome to icliniq.com. I have seen the images (attachment removed to protect patient identity). They do look like chalazia, which are basically an inflammation of the oil glands in your eyelids which pour an oily substance over your eyes to prevent dryness. Sometimes they do respond to hot fomentation along with an antibiotic eye drop, but if they are there for a long time, then surgical drainage is the only option. Hope that helps.
Hi, Welcome to icliniq.com. The cause for his present complaint is due to the surgical trauma induced by the surgery. In pterygium surgery, the mass of tissue is cut and scraped off and then a graft is placed to cover the defect. Our eyes are so sensitive, that even when an eyelash accidentally falls in the eye, it becomes so uncomfortable. Now a whole area has been actually cut and the graft sutured, so definitely, until the healing is completed the symptoms of heaviness, dryness will continue.
Hi, Welcome to icliniq.com. Lulifin is an antifungal lotion. You should immediately do an eye wash with clean water, and continue this for at least 20 to 30 minutes. You can get some antibiotics steroid eye drops and apply for three times a day for four to five days. Please remember that if your vision is affected then it is better to see an eye doctor.
Hi, Welcome to icliniq.com. IntraLasik is a method in which the corneal flap is taken by laser. In regular Lasik, the corneal flap is taken by a mechanical device which has a metal blade. The rest of the procedures are the same. Contoura vision is a personalized Lasik in which the laser correction is done according to the size and specifications of the individual's eye.
Hello, Welcome to icliniq.com. I have seen your medical notes and can assure you that you should be doing fine. I also read that you have had lasik surgery done in the past. First of all the oil did not effect your retina, which is the innermost portion of the eye, not exposed to the out side. The oil effected your cornea which is the outer layer in front of your eye.
Hi, Welcome to icliniq.com. Dry eye syndrome is a condition which can best be managed but cannot be treated, since it is caused by multiple factors like age, environment, etc. The good thing is that it is not dangerous. You are already using Systane (Propylene glycol) and Ara gel (Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose). If no relief from these then you can try more viscous lubricants which stay longer in the eye or you can go for plugging your drainage ducts.
Hello, Welcome to icliniq.com. From the description you have given, it looks like you have contact lens induced keratitis. This means in simple language, that due to abuse of contact lens, your cornea has been injured. This could be serious. I suggest you that immediately remove your lenses and abstain from using it for at least a week, till your eye heals and feels better.
