Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am an 18-year-old female, 5 foot 3 inches tall, and my weight falls in the range of 120-135 pounds. Initially, I experienced sudden stomach pain, but it has progressively worsened over the past 5-6 days. The pain and symptoms I have described have been ongoing and intensifying. My mother has a history of kidney infections and UTIs, while I have previously had UTIs, but the pain I am currently experiencing is different. The pain is severe and widespread. I am currently taking 150mg of Sertraline for depression and Dicyclomine for pre-existing stomach issues, although the current pain is different.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

Based on the description you have provided, I would suggest you seek immediate medical attention. The precise cause of your pain can be complex and should be determined through a thorough evaluation by a healthcare specialist. Here are some potential factors to consider:

  1. Infection: Given your history of UTIs (urinary tract infection) and your mother's kidney infections, it is possible that you might be dealing with a urinary tract infection or another type of infection. These infections can lead to abdominal pain and various other symptoms.
  2. Gastrointestinal issues: Abdominal pain and gastrointestinal symptoms can arise from various conditions, such as gastritis, gastroenteritis, or inflammatory bowel disease. These conditions may require medical assessment and treatment.
  3. Medication side effects: It is essential to consider the possibility that your symptoms could be linked to the medications you are currently taking. I recommend discussing this with your doctor to determine if any adjustments are needed.
  4. Other possibilities: There are numerous potential causes for your symptoms, including hormonal fluctuations, musculoskeletal problems, or even psychological factors.

I strongly suggest you to consult a doctor and undergo a thorough examination to rule out any of the potential issues mentioned above.

I hope you find the relief and answers you need.

Thank you.
