Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have no idea what I appear to have. Unfortunately, I have no health insurance. Therefore, I want to know if I need to visit a doctor. I had an intense stomach ache that woke me up in the morning. I reasoned that perhaps I only needed to use the toilet, so I did. Suddenly, the temperature rose, I began to sweat, and the agony was severe. Because I was scared of what was occurring, I contacted my mother. I rapidly stood up, and as a result, my eyesight faded, and I thought I would faint. I sat on the floor next to the fan to cool down. I barely peed at all, and I was in terrible pain. At that time, I was at my lowest. I sat up, and my mother offered me water as I began to chill and sweat. Only water has been consumed; no food or medicine. I finally feel much better, and my stomach no longer hurts as much. I recently used the toilet, but it was essentially loose. I can walk well. If I have another incident like this one, I am frightened. I had never had sex before. I have only had oral or finger pregnancies, so I am not until I can become pregnant that way. To be more precise, he never inserted his dick inside my vagina. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Most likely, there is an infection inside the body.

The infection your husband is having is termed medically as Gastroenteritis or stomach flu. In gastroenteritis, the intestine's mucosa is severely inflamed, causing symptoms like loose stools, indigestion, nausea, and pain. Most of the time, it is vital; however, it can sometimes be bacterial.

I suggested the following tests to be done.

  1. Ultrasound abdomen to rule out abdomen inflammation (conditions like Diverticulitis).

  2. Stool test for bacterial or protozoal infection

  3. Fecal calprotectin to rule out intestinal inflammation.

Most likely, stomach flu is viral and is self-limiting. However, antibiotic therapy can be given if it is bacterial or protozoal.

I suggested the following treatment.

  1. Fybrogel (Isabgol Husk). It increases the bulk of the stool and improves digestion.

  2. Start taking an excellent counter-probiotic daily. It will gradually improve digestion. They are rich in good bacteria, which assists digestion.

  3. Take lots of bananas, apples, and peaches.

  4. Drink lots of fibrous juices.

  5. Take light and easily digestible food.

  6. Dicyclomine can be taken for spasmodic pains, along with Nexium 40 mg.

I hope I have answered your question.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards.
