Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have been having slight pain in the lower right abdomen, near the hip bone, for a couple of weeks. This usually happens when I laugh or sometimes when I am lying down. Earlier, I was not sure why it happened, but I made force, like flexing my abs, and I got this sudden wave of pain in the same area. I am worried about it being serious.

Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

I can provide some suggestions based on the information you have provided:

1. Monitor your symptoms: Keep a record of when and how often you experience pain in your lower right abdomen near the hip bone. Note any factors that seem to trigger or worsen the pain, such as laughing, coughing, or physical activity.

2. If you are experiencing persistent pain in your lower right abdomen, it may be worth consulting with a healthcare professional. They can perform a physical exam and run some tests (ultrasound of the whole abdomen) to determine the cause of your pain and any underlying health issues.

3. Address any underlying health issues: If you suspect that an infection, inflammation, or other underlying health issue is contributing to your pain, consider addressing these issues through lifestyle changes such as practicing good hygiene, avoiding tight-fitting clothing, and using over-the-counter medications such as pain relievers or anti-inflammatory drugs to manage any discomfort.

4. Avoid sudden movements: If you have experienced sudden pain in your lower right abdomen after making a forceful movement, such as flexing your abs, it may be worth avoiding sudden movements or high-impact activities until you have had a chance to consult with a healthcare professional and rule out any serious underlying health issues.

5. Stay hydrated: Dehydration can sometimes contribute to abdominal pain and discomfort. Make sure you are drinking enough water throughout the day to stay hydrated and help alleviate any discomfort you may be experiencing.

I cannot provide medical treatment or diagnose medical conditions. The appropriate treatment for any medical condition will depend on the underlying cause, as determined by physical examination. It is essential to consult with a healthcare professional for personalized advice and guidance on managing your symptoms and addressing any underlying health issues. They can provide you with a treatment plan that is tailored to your individual circumstances and helps you achieve the best possible outcome.

I hope this information helps you.

Kindly follow up if you have any further queries about it.

Thanks.
