Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Last week I took three pregnancy tests and all three came back positive. This morning I woke up and was cramping and bleeding like I would with my normal period only a little lighter. Is this something to be concerned about?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

If you are pregnant and the pregnancy test is positive, then bleeding after workup means there is threatened abortion. It could be due to over exercises. It is the initial phase of abortion, you should rest in bed, consult a gynecologist personally for an ultrasound of lower abdomen for the fetal well being. Treatment plan would be to start tablet Duphaston 10 mg twice a day, and tablet Folic acid 5 mg once a day for 15 days. Injection hCG 5000 IU intramuscularly stat and weekly for three months. Avoid sex and exercising.

Take care.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
