Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

How to remove pimples and blackheads? Please suggest a good quality facewash and face cream for a combination skin type.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your query and concern, but I need to examine your picture.

Acne vulgaris is a common skin problem in adolescents and in adulthood. It involves pilosebaceous follicles or oil glands and therefore is seen to involve areas where oil glands are dense, like the face, chest, back, and upper arms. In your case, it looks like grade 1 to grade 2 acne.

My advice:

Consult your specialist doctor, talk with them and take medications with their consent.

  1. Faceclin gel (Clindamycin and Nicotinamide) topical 1 % w/w, and Nicotinamide 4 % w/w) during daytime over pimples.
  2. Microbenz 3.5 % gel (Benzoyl peroxide) at night over the whole face for around two to three months.
  3. Use a gentle face wash for cleaning the face twice daily.

You also have to make certain dietary restrictions like avoiding spicy, oily, junk food, milk products, and non-vegetarian foods. Drink lots of water to hydrate your skin.

Thank you.
