Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have acne in chest and head a lot and it is getting worse. Kindly advise.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Hope you are having a nice day. I have seen your attached photo and understand that you are having alopecia which is loss of hair in patches (attachment removed to protect patient identity), which can be scarred alopecia (causing permeant destruction of the hair follicle) or non scarring (hair growth can be reverted). There are different causative factors for this type of alopecia, which are fungal infection, bacterial infection, autoimmune disease, diabetes mellitus. The treatment is cause specific and so need to do various tests to rule out these conditions. Please consider doing these investigations. Examination of the lesions under a dermoscope (microscopic examination to see extend of follicular damage): Scraping from the area for fungal culture and sensitivity study, bacterial culture and sensitivity study, skin biopsy for confirmatory diagnosis, complete blood routine, glycemic or diabetic profile work up: fasting blood glucose and postprandial blood glucose. Please go to a dermatologist and get these tests and examination done for deciding on the treatment. I need to see photograph of the chest acne too, to decide on the treatment. So, please attach a photo.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
