Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have had acne all over my face and greasy skin for three months. What should I do to get rid of it?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. However, there are no photographs attached to your query. Because various types of acne require different treatments, therefore, please share the photos of the affected area so we can assess the condition and recommend the best diagnosis and therapy.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply. I have acne, which is pus-filled painful pimples, as well as they have those red round painful bumps, and my skin is oily. My skin texture is changing in the malar region, which appears as pinpoint depressions.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. Thank you for sharing the photos (attachment removed to protect patient's identity). You seem to have grade 2 to 3 acne and will need to take oral antibiotics as well. Take tablet Azithromycin 500mg for three consecutive days per week. Apply a tiny amount of Adapalene plus Benzoyl Peroxide gel (Deriva-BPO) once at night without rubbing it on acne. Use face wash containing salicylic acid (Saslic). Also, avoid eating too many sweets, full-fat milk, and chocolates. Please do not pick the lesions either. Follow-up is required after one month.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply. Please mention these medications in the prescription pad. I am buying medicines online and must send a photo of the prescription to the drugstore. Could you kindly attach the prescription or mail it to me?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. Please contact the icliniq support team regarding this, and they will assist you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply. Could you kindly mention how many times per day I need to take Azithromycin and how long?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. As previously mentioned, tablet Azithromycin 500 mg must be taken once daily but only thrice weekly for one month. It can take up to three months, depending on the response. If the lesions improve, antibiotics can be discontinued, and using topical creams should be continued. Acne usually responds slowly and takes 3 to 4 weeks to clear up. So treatment might take up to 6 months or more, depending on the response. However, with consistent therapy, it will improve. So do not have to be too concerned.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply. So, for the time being, I need to apply that gel at night, and for the rest of the day, may I use regular moisturizer and sunscreen and follow up after a month?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. Apply a tiny bit of gel to the lesions at night without rubbing them. I suggest you use Episoft-AC because it contains both moisturizer and sunscreen and is also suitable for acne-prone skin. Yes, a follow-up after a month is necessary.
