Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 17-year-old girl who has developed rashes similar to pimples or blackheads for seven months. The redness has subsided after using tea tree oil, but there are still a lot of spots, as I initially believed they were acne. The rashes feel rough and bumpy when touched. They are not resolving, and I do not know how to cure them. Please help me.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query, and I can understand your concern.

You have acne vulgaris grades 1 to 2, which are papules and blackheads based on the pictures you sent (attachment removed to protect the patient’s identity). Acne vulgaris is a common skin problem in adolescents and adults. The face, chest, back, and upper arms are typical locations of involvement because they include pilosebaceous follicles or oil glands and are consequently perceived to involve areas where oil glands are dense. I suggest you use Faceclin gel (Clindamycin Topical 1 % w/w and Nicotinamide 4 % w/w) during the day time over pimples and Microbenz 3.5 % Gel (Benzoyl peroxide) at night hour over the whole face for around two to three months. For cleaning your face, you can use mild face wash twice daily. Consult a specialist doctor, talk to them, and then take the medication. You must do certain dietary restrictions like not eating oily spicy food, junk food, milk products, and nonvegetarian foods. Drink lots of water, which hydrates your skin.

I hope this will help you.

Thank you.
