Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have forehead scars, some pimples, and a lot of small itchy colorless bumps on my forehead and chin area. I used to have it last year. However, when I started to wear makeup every day eight years back, poor exercise and diet, and stress worsened my condition.

I am currently using Nizoral anti-dandruff shampoo morning and night. And I am using a prescribed gel from my GP called Epiduo at night. I have previously used some antibiotics and Duac gel for the same problem.

Lots of hyperpigmentation all over my face and holes in my cheeks and my upper lip (whiteheads maybe). I have very oily and sensitive skin all of the time. I have enlarged pores especially on my cheeks, very rough and uneven skin tone.

How can I completely clear my skin?

Please help me.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query and understand your concern.

From the picture, it seems you have developed forehead acne (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity).

I suggest you take

  1. Capsule Doxycycline 100 milligrams once daily.

  2. Cleargel (Clindamycin) daily during the morning.

  3. Adapalene gel during the night.

  4. Ridacne foaming face wash twice daily and do not apply any hair oil as it will aggravate your forehead acne.

Avoid oily and spicy food, junk food, and dairy products. Try to avoid a non-vegetarian diet and drink lots of water daily which will hydrate your skin.

Thank you.
