Hi doctor,

I am a 30-year-old female with severe acne, dry skin, and itching. I have been having this problem for the past two years. My skin used to get dry soon after I washed my face with soap. So I started using a mild face wash, which gave me some relief from dry skin. The dryness in my face is seen in the ala of my nose and in the depression seen above my chin, the scrapings from those dry area has a bad smell. I also have a dandruff issue, which causes severe itching in my face and head. Are the acne problems and dryness in my face due to dandruff or something else? Kindly help me to get rid of my skin problem.

I suggest you use:

1. Use Moiste (Aloe vera 10 %W/W and Vitamin E 0.5 %W/W) cream or Moiz MM (Cetyl alcohol 2% w/w, Shea butter, Sorbitan Oolivate, Caprylic-capric triglyceride, Light liquid paraffin, Cetearyl olivate, PEG-4 Olivate, Stearic acid, Glycerin, Propylene glycol, and C12-15 Alkyl benzoate) cream to keep the skin hydrated.

2. Use a mild soap for two months.

3. Drink plenty of water.

4. Wash scalp with Ketoscalp (Ketoconazole 2 percent w/v and Zinc pyrithione 1 percent w/v) shampoo twice weekly for four weeks.

5. Apply Acnesol (Clindamycin 1 percent w/w) gel at night for 15 days (on the acne lesions). Consult your doctor and take the medicines accordingly.
