Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am suffering from severe acne and blemishes along with small acne pores all over my face and am not taking any type of medicine. I am 25 years old and my height is 5.4 inches, and weigh 191 pounds. I have been suffering from PCOD and PCOS after pregnancy. Kindly suggest.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

If you are experiencing severe acne and blemishes without taking any medication, it may be helpful to adopt a few skincare practices that can help manage acne. Follow the following suggestions:

1. Cleanse Your Skin Twice a Day: Use a gentle cleanser to remove dirt, oil, and makeup from your skin. Avoid harsh scrubs or exfoliators that can irritate your skin.

2. Use a Non-comedogenic Moisturizer: Look for a moisturizer that is labeled as non-comedogenic, which means it will not clog your pores. This can help prevent breakouts and keep your skin hydrated.

3. Apply a Spot Treatment: Use a spot treatment containing salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide to target individual blemishes. Apply the treatment directly to the affected area and avoid spreading it to other areas of your face.

4. Wear Sunscreen: Protect your skin from UV (ultraviolet) damage by wearing a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF (sun protection factor) of 30 or higher every day. This can help prevent hyperpigmentation and scarring caused by acne.

5. Manage Stress: Stress can trigger acne breakouts, so it is essential to find healthy ways to manage stress, such as meditation, yoga, or deep breathing exercises.

6. Get Enough Sleep: Lack of sleep can lead to increased stress levels and hormonal imbalances that can contribute to acne breakouts. Aim for seven to eight hours of sleep each night.

7. Avoid Touching Your Face: Touching your face can transfer bacteria and oil from your hands to your skin, which can lead to breakouts. Try to avoid touching your face as much as possible.

Remember that everyone's skin is unique, and what works for one person may not work for another. If you are experiencing persistent acne or severe symptoms, it may be helpful to speak with a dermatologist for personalized guidance and treatment recommendations.

I hope you find this helpful.

Thank you.
