Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am 22 years old. I have pain in the anal region and pain and discomfort while passing stools. Also, my bowel movements are limited. The difficulties started two days ago. I am currently not taking any medications.
Kindly help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern. Anal pain and discomfort can be caused by a variety of conditions. Some common causes of anal pain and discomfort include hemorrhoids, anal fissures, and constipation.
1. Hemorrhoids are swollen veins in the rectal area that can cause pain, itching, and bleeding. They can be caused by straining during bowel movements or sitting for long periods.
2. Anal fissures are small tears in the lining of the anus that can cause sharp pain and discomfort during bowel movements. Constipation limits bowel movements and causes difficulty passing stools. It can also contribute to anal pain and discomfort.
I suggest you follow the following instructions to help alleviate your symptoms:
1. Increase your water and fiber intake to help soften stools and make them easier to pass.
2. Take warm Sitz baths to help relieve pain and discomfort in the anal area.
3. Avoid straining during bowel movements and take your time in the toilet.
I also suggest you apply over-the-counter topical creams or ointments to the affected area to help reduce pain and inflammation. I suggest you consult a doctor if your symptoms persist or become severe or if you notice any signs of bleeding or discharge so that the doctor can perform a physical examination and recommend an appropriate treatment based on the underlying cause of your symptoms.
I hope this helps you.
Thank you.
