Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My iron saturation level is low. What to do?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query.

Iron saturation means the amount of iron present in the blood. You have low iron saturation. This means you have low iron in your blood.

But the more important parameters are ferritin (iron store) and transferrin (iron transport).

I wanted to know if you are suffering from any weakness or breathing difficulties.

Kindly update us with the answers.

Thanks and regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thanks for your reply.

I am suffering from extreme fatigue, low appetite, and heart palpitations. Is 7 percent iron saturation critical? Is there anything that I need to do?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Your low iron saturation is the cause of your low hemoglobin (lower limit of normal range) and low MCV (mean corpuscular volume).

Low MCV is suggestive of iron deficiency.

So it is not critical. But iron supplements should be started.

Are you taking any iron supplements?

Hope it helps.

Thanks and regards.
