Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I feel unheard. I come home to clean and babysit my nephew and little sister. My mom does not work and does nothing all day. I am stressed out. I go to church thrice a week and am a bible teacher. I only have time to do some of my homework, chores, and lesson plans. I do not have the support. When I try to talk to them seriously, they ignore me. They walk away and pretend not to hear me or start singing, facing the opposite direction from me. That stresses me out, and I cannot take it. I want to yell but cannot. I wish they could listen to me and put themselves in my shoes, but with them, that is impossible. I need a suggestion on how I can balance out all these things without getting so overwhelmed. Also, I have anger issues, so I get mad when I get ignored or I am frustrated. I need advice on balancing things because I have lost hope in talking to them. Please help.

Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

You are suffering from depressive symptoms as you are going through a lot of stressors at this young age. Life is never easy. It has ups and downs. Do not get stressed out by things happening around you, as you have little control over people. It will take a toll on your health. Focus on your studies at present. I know it is difficult for you to concentrate. But, your career matters most to you. You can become independent only when you are well-placed in life. Invest in a new hobby, go for a regular walk, give time for yourself, and seek new friends. You will slowly come out of it. Take a tablet of Zosert (Sertraline) 50 mg twice daily and Clonotril (Clonazepam) 0.5 mg at night for two weeks. You can review with me for further follow-up.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.
