Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My ankle has been hurting for about five days, and I have no idea what I did to it. It has not been swelling or bruising, but there is sharp shooting pain in my ankle and foot. I cannot remember rolling it or injuring it in any way. The pain is in the right side along the ankle bone and down to the bottom of my foot. I can still walk normally, though I have some trouble standing on my toes. My toes are a little tingly, although I do not know what that means.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Have you not mentioned this to your parents? It is one of the things where examinations are very important. I cannot recall anything from your history that fits into a clinical condition. It can be a strain of the plantar fascia or one of the medial tendons, but without an exam, it is difficult. I will recommend that you try icing by resting the side for a few days. Apply ice to the sore area and keep the foot elevated; apply any pain gel that you have. Then, give it a week. If it is not getting better, see a doctor.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
