Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I sprained my ankle last week and now my foot and ankle are very much swollen. My foot including my ankle is tender. It hurts on the heels while walking and so I am limping. I cannot put pressure on the foot and I am taking Strattera. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

This seems to be a ligament injury. You need to take the following tablets:

  1. Tablet Ibuprofen 400 mg should be taken twice daily, once in the morning and another at night for 10 days after food.

  2. Tablet Rabeprazole 20 mg should be taken twice daily, once in the morning and another at night for 10 days before food.

  3. Tablet Calcium and Vitamin D3 (Shelcal) 500 mg should be taken twice daily, once in the morning and another at night for 30 days before food.

  4. Tablet vitamin D 60 K units should be taken once daily for 10 days and then should be taken once a month for 11 months.

Please take the above tablets only if you are not allergic to them. Do not take these tablets if you have bronchial asthma. It should be correlated with clinical findings. Wear an orthosis for ankle aircast stirrup brace. This brace will provide a lot of support and will help in healing. Apply ice packs twice daily.
