Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have noticed that one of my pupils is slightly bigger than the other. I have also consulted a doctor for this. From what I saw, both are responding to light. I also have to point out that recently I have consulted a doctor, and now I have astigmatism glasses. The doctor said nothing about my pupils.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thanks for for your query.

I have noted that you are concerned about the size of your pupils. It can some times happen if one has had an injury to that eye in the past. And can also occur if you have a large difference in the spectacle power between the eyes. Certain pathological conditions can cause it if it is of recent origin. If your eye is not red, painful, or have no double vision or droopy eye, there is nothing to worry about. You have not mentioned your age. If it has always been there for a long time and does not cause any problem focusing on near objects, it is nothing to worry about. You can test your pupils by using a torch and see if each pupil reacts equally to light by flashing it towards the eye and away while looking into the mirror. If they are constricting simultaneously, you should be fine.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
