Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have no medications and no prior medical history. I am an 18-year-old female. Three days ago, I noticed a lump under my armpit that is painful to touch. However, it is underneath the skin and can only be seen when I stretch my arm a certain way. It hurts, and the area is not discolored. What can it be? Can it be anything serious? What should I do?
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concerns.
You have an enlarged axillary lymph node from the attached images (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). The possible causes include skin infection, breast infection, abscess, or breast cancer. Do you have pain or lumps in the breast? I suggest you take the tablet Ibuprofen 400 mg and do a self examination of the breast. Then, consult a specialist doctor, discuss with them, and take medications with their consent. Immediate surgical assessment is required if you notice a lump in the breast.
