Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 27-years-old female and I have PCOD. I have a bad smell in my vagina and my vagina becomes very wet. I have mood swings and headaches all the time. My query is if I have any problem with my vagina? Why it is having a bad smell all the day?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

It may be due to bacterial vaginosis or yeast infection. I suggest you take antibiotics, analgesics, and antihistamines along with douching of the vagina with an antiseptic solution and vaginal pessary or ointment for five days. Mood swings and headaches may be due to hormonal imbalances.

If possible kindly do the following tests:

  1. Thyroid profile.
  2. HB (Hemoglobin) level.
  3. Pap smear of vaginal discharge for microbiology and others like cervicitis.
  4. Urine routine and culture test.
  5. Fasting and postprandial blood sugar levels.
  6. Ultrasound of abdomen and pelvis.
  7. This will narrow down your problem. You need treatment according to the results of these tests (it is mostly due to bacterial vaginosis). To be reviewed with your query soon for better understanding and treatment advice and prescription of drugs and vaginal pessary or ointment.

    Thank you.
