Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have itching on my foreskin and my penis head. I looked it up online, and it appears to be balanitis. Also, I can pull my foreskin back when my penis is erect, but it is very tight. I have never had sexual intercourse. I masturbate around twice a month, and I clean my penis every day.

Kindly help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

If there was unprotected sex, one needs to think of sexually transmitted infection. Please get the following tests done.

  1. TPHA (treponema pallidum hemagglutination).

  2. HPV (human papillomavirus) DNA PCR (polymerization chain reaction) test.

  3. Herpes simplex virus (HSV) one and two IgG.

  4. Herpes simplex virus (HSV) one and two IgM.

  5. Chlamydia trachomatis IgG.

  6. HIV one and two antibodies screening test.

  7. HbsAg (hepatitis B surface antigen).

  8. Urine complete examination.

If there is itching, you need to think of a fungal infection. Apply ointment Candid B (Beclomethasone and Clotrimazole) for local application, and for itching, take the tablet Cetirizine once a night. Make sure you wash your genitalia twice a day, morning and night, and use regular water, no cold or hot water. Do not use heavy pH soap.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.
