Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 29-year-old female and a nonvirgin. I had my last period last month. After two weeks (three months after the last intercourse ) my partner and I engaged in a foreplay, he fingered and peneterated me, and we had a brief unprotected sex for a minute and he did not cum, but I suddenly started bleeding. This has never happened before. The spotting completely stopped the next day. No pain and no discomfort were present. I took an emergency contraceptive the same day. I was completely fine, but today nearly after a week, he deep fingered me and I started bleeding again. It is just spotting, but I am worried.

What could be the possible cause? What should my next step be? Do you recommend any tests? Please help me with this.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Bleeding during intercourse and masturbation occurs due to an infection or hormone imbalance.

Do you have any signs of infection like pain in the vagina during intercourse or masturbation, discharge, itching, or burning? Do you have regular periods? Kindly reply me with details.

Meanwhile I suggest you take (Consult with the specialist doctor, talk with him or her and take the medicines with their consent),

1) Take capsule Itraconazole 200 mg, once a day for seven days

2) Take capsule Doxt-SL (Doxycycline and Lactic Acid Bacillus), twice a day on the first day, followed by once daily for seven days.

3) Take capsule Revital H Woman, once daily for six weeks.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

I have absolutely no signs of infection. I do not have any pain, discharge, burning, or itching during intercourse, masturbation, or urination. My periods are also perfectly regular. The two spotting incidents have only happened post-deep fingering and which has never happened before.

I would like to mention that I recently started using a menstrual cup (for the last four cycles). It has been smooth and has not caused any problems except when I insert it, I get urges to pee slightly more. Otherwise, no discomfort at all. I would like to know if this could be a cause?

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

There is no need to worry.

Try to get a checkup done by a gynecologist to rule out any lesions in the cervix or vaginal mucosa. You can also do sexually transmitted diseases (STD) panel and pap smear tests and check the blood sugar levels too. These tests will help to arrive at a diagnosis clearly.

These two incidents of spotting seem to be due to some friction injuries in vaginal mucosa or a mild infection and may get aggravated by deficiency of multivitamins and multiminerals.

Send me a follow-up of the findings of gynecologist and test results once you receive it.

Thanks and regards.
