Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

When my partner penetrated me for the first time, I bled a heavy blood clot. Is it normal?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. Bleeding during the first time of sex is normal. There is nothing to be worried about.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the response.

Will it affect my periods, as I am due sometime next week?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Did you have protected or unprotected sex? In case of protected sex, there are no chances of pregnancy. However, if you had unprotected sex and miss your monthly cycle, I suggest you go for a pregnancy test. If the pregnancy test is negative, and still your periods are delayed, then we have to look for thyroid disorders or PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome), as a hormonal imbalance could have delayed the periods.

I hope this helps.

Kindly revert in case of further questions.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

We were only trying for penetration that lasted for a few seconds.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Precum also contains a small number of sperms. So, even a tiny drop can vary the result. Even though your partner did not penetrate, the act of coitus can cause seepage of some seminal fluid.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I got my periods within a few hours of having sex. Can I take an I-pill during my periods as it has not been even 24 hours?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

If you got your periods, you do not need to take an emergency contraceptive pill. However, if the penetration was vigorous and painful, there can be a hymen tear leading to bleeding that stops on its own.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
