As per your description, this person is on Aspirin. Aspirin can cause ulcers in the stomach and mouth. The ulcers formed in the stomach can bleed, which will, in turn, irritate the stomach and comes up to the mouth, and during this instance, if some amount of blood enters into the respiratory tract down into the lungs can cause breathing difficulty. The other way around, per se, there can be bleeding into the lungs to cause gasping for breath, and this blood can come up to the mouth and cough out, which is called hemoptysis.

Final conclusion is that, since you are a cardiac patient and now having shortness of breath, you need to visit a cardiologist and get your heart status evaluated at present to look for any possible deterioration.And for your gastric ulcer, you need to continue the Omeprazole tablet twice daily half an hour before food to reduce gastric acid secretion and avoid hot and spicy foods. Add syrup Sucralfate 10 ml thrice daily one hour before your meals along with your Omeprazole for ulcer healing.

H.pylori (Helicobacter pylori) infection is an important cause of persistent gastric ulcers. So, it becomes an additional factor along with Aspirin to make your ulcers bleed. And pulmonary embolism (PE) is another important cause of chest pain and breathing difficulty particularly when it is associated with hemoptysis. PE is something similar to MI (heart attack). MI is formation of blood clot and blockage of blood flow in blood vessels supplying the heart muscles. PE is a similar thing that occurs in blood vessels going to the lungs.

H.pylori infection needs a set of antibiotics to be taken for two weeks.
