Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

For the past month, I have been suffering from head heaviness, aches, and dizziness. I went to a general physician, and he told me I had sinusitis. My heaviness is in the back of the head and, at times, in the right or left of the forehead and the eyebrows. I was given Mondeslor and Azero nasal spray. For one week, I did not have any headaches or heaviness. But again, it started after a week. Now, for the past week, when I get up, I have a heavy head, or I would get heaviness after an hour. It stays for 4 to 5 hours and goes away every morning. One night, I could not even sleep. I felt something was happening in my head when I closed my eyes. I am scared if I have any serious issues. I have lost my father due to brain cancer. So, I am worried about what is wrong with me. Please help me.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your symptoms completely.

If you are very sure that this pattern of symptoms is consistently present, please get an MRI brain done. This pattern of symptoms has been described in patients with brain tumors. It is not 100 % sure that you would have one. Sometimes, even high blood pressure can manifest like this. Some other etiology can have this presentation. But here, the MRI brain has a negative predictive value; if it is negative, it is important to have it done and document that it is negative.

I hope you understand.

Thank you.
