Can a person with breast cancer look normal without noticeable changes in appearance?

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My mother told us five years ago that she has NASH and has a few months to live. However, she is still active, but one and a half years ago, she told her grandchildren and me that she had breast cancer and had a few months to live. Since she has had NASH and she gets drained every two weeks. She said she refused the cancer treatment as there was no point living, and she was dying anyway. But it has been one and a half years since the incident, and she looks the same as a year ago. She does not take any medication for pain relief. How would someone look like, and what symptoms will be present in someone with these diseases? Some things do not make sense, and I doubt she is lying about cancer.

Please give your suggestions.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

As she performs ascites tapping every two weeks, that means the liver is failing. Liver failure is a serious condition with high mortality. Breast cancer is manifested with swelling in the breast and may lead to weight loss and anorexia. Symptoms of metastasis include pain in bony parts and coughing up blood. As she has claimed these conditions, there must be laboratory tests or imaging reports confirming the diagnosis. If you have any of these, send them to me to analyze these data.

Also, I suggest you to give her all support as some elderly may claim things to draw attention and receive support from others. Take her claims seriously until proven otherwise.

I hope this has helped.

Kindly follow up if you have any doubts.

Take care.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
