Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have a breathing problem when I walk up the stairs. It is difficult to breathe. Initially, a doctor asked me to take Foracort Rotacap 200. But the doses were like two puffs twice a day. I forget to take it along with me when I go outside. So I thought to go for some medications. I consulted another doctor, and they asked me to take Montelukast 10 mg and Levocetirizine 5 mg. This medicine was very effective. I could even run without any issues for 24 hours. Only I had to take one tablet in 24 hours. The doctor asked me to take it just for three weeks, but I do not know somehow, I got addicted to it. It has been almost one year. I am regularly taking this medicine every day. I have reduced the tablet to Montelukast 4 mg and Levocetirizine 2.5 mg. But I am unable to stop it permanently. I get red marks and itching all over my body whenever I try to stop. Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read the query, and I can understand your concern.

According to your history and description, you might have asthma or allergies. So get done with IgE (Immunoglobulin E) and eosinophil count. Get a pulmonary function test (PFT) to rule out asthma. If you have asthma and allergies, you have to take them regularly.

I hope this will help you.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
