Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I took an unwanted 72 two months ago. Can brown discharge happen two months after that? Also, is brown, odorless discharge normal one week before my period?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I understand your concern. It is not uncommon to experience brown or pinkish discharge a week before your period. It could be a sign of old blood that has not completely left your body. However, if you are also experiencing pain, itching, or other unusual symptoms, it is best to consult a healthcare professional to rule out any underlying health conditions. In regards to the unwanted 72 pills you took two months ago, it is unlikely that it is causing the current discharge. Emergency contraception pills can cause changes in your menstrual cycle and may cause spotting or irregular bleeding in the weeks following their use. However, it is unusual for these effects to persist for two months.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
