Is a movable lump on my testicle a serious problem?

The structure you feel at the top and back of the testicle is called the epididymis. It usually feels like a soft, lumpy, movable cord or cluster sitting on top of the testicle. Many guys notice it for the first time and mistakenly think something is wrong.

Epididymitis usually comes with a cluster of symptoms like pain, swelling and tenderness at the area involved. Sometimes people feel a warmth in the area and sometimes fever can develop. You might also feel a burning sensation when urinating.

1. Is the actual testicle smooth and firm, like a boiled egg?

3. Is there no pain when you press on it?

If you answered yes to these questions, it strongly suggests that your anatomy is normal. You should see a doctor urgently if you develop any of the following:

1. Sudden, severe testicle pain.
2. Rapid swelling.
3. Redness.
4. Fever.
