Is a tiny nodule in the cardia suggestive of cancer?

Hi doctor,
I had a gastroscopy a week back, and when I asked the doctor if I had cancer, she said no. On arriving home, I saw in the report that there was a tiny nodule in the cardia which had been biopsied.
My question is, why would she say emphatically that I do not have cancer if she has done a biopsy?

I have gone through your query in detail. The endoscopy has shown a healing ulcer and is showing healing as well as a small hiatus hernia. There is a very tiny nodule in the cardia (proximal part of the stomach), which has been biopsied.
These tiny nodules are usually innocuous, but as a routine approach, it is biopsied to rule out any kind of early changes, if any. The report is very clear that they have not found anything sinister (please read it as cancer).
I am almost certain that the biopsy is going to come out as benign. Please continue with PPI (proton-pump inhibitors) and wait for the biopsy. Once you have the biopsy and have any further concerns, you could always get back in touch.

If (please emphasise the if) it was sinister, leaving it for 6 to 8 weeks might make it a bit worse, depending on what stage of the cancer it was. Early cancers would not change much within 6 to 8 weeks, but advanced cancers would.
Having said all that, I would like to reiterate the fact that upper GI endoscopy in your case has not found anything sinister. Please do not worry. I do not think there is anything to be worried about here, especially in terms of cancer, based on the report you have uploaded (attachment removed to protect patient identity).
